  22. I went to a local dealer who sells Digital's Alpha worksations and servers to
  23. see what the prices were looking like down here. The guy there told me that a
  24. workstation with a 275 MHz processor, 32 Mb ram, 1 Gb hard drive and double
  25. speed CD-ROM would cost me over US$ 60,000.00. Now, from what I've been
  26. seeing as far as pricing goes in the US, this kind of configuration would be
  27. in the 10 to 15 thousand range. Put in an extra 80% for freight and import
  28. taxes and the price shouldn't pass US$ 30,000.00. HOW THE HELL DOES HE GET TO
  29. 60 GRAND!!!! I THOUGHT THAT ALPHA MACHINES WERE SUPPOSED TO COMPETE WITH
  30. PENTIUMS!!!! I CAN GET 6 PENTIUM SYSTEMS WITH THAT KIND OF MONEY!!!!
